Overview

The TSS, or Talking Security System, is an alarm notification solution used to announce the status of an industrial process controlled by a PLC (Programmable Logic Computer).

When an alarm condition occurs, the PLC signals the TSS with the event number, via its serial port, and the TSS in turn selects the corresponding voice message (pre-recorded with natural voice) and opens the communications channel of a radio base to notify the production line supervisors.

The versatility that the TSS provides is that, by using pre-recorded natural voice and besides announcing the alarm condition, one can also announce the actions to be taken to clear this alarm condition. The alarm voice message can be announced via a radio link and/or to the factory general voice paging system.

Features:

  • PC/104 Single Board Computer, fanless.
  • Compact Flash Card for voice message storing in *.wav format (8, 16 or 32 MB capacity).
  • Up to 256 alarm messages can be configured.
  • RS-232 port for communications to the PLC.
  • 4 digital input ports for sensing "dry contacts".
  • Interfaces to VHF/UHF or Radio Trunking base units.
  • Power: 110VAC, 1.5A
